Nadi International Airport

THE main gateway to the Fiji Islands is the Nadi International Airport. Built on two levels, the L-shaped building handles international arrival and departures on a daily basis. Flights to Fiji often arrive in the early hours of the morning and travelers going to the outer island resort destinations sometimes book their first night's stay at one of the nearby Nadi Airport hotels.

International airlines coming in and out of Fiji include Air New Zealand, Freedom Air (NZ), Pacific Blue (Virgin Airlines), and Korean Air. Plus, of course, Fiji's own airline - Air Pacific - which codeshares with Qantas Airways of Australia. For travel to Fiji from Canada or USA, there are two main options. These are direct from Los Angeles or from Vancouver (with a stop at Honolulu) on Air Pacific or Air New Zealand. Flights from North America to Fiji lose a day as they fly across the International Dateline just east of Fiji Islands. On the return flight, a day is regained!

The airport also handles the domestic flights for travel in Fiji Islands, with two main airlines - Pacific Sun and Air Fiji. The domestic section is to the left of the international departures. Duty free shops, Italian coffee shops, cafes and restaurants, car hire rentals and travel agents can be found at the terminal.
